What makes VASER liposelection so special is its unique ultrasound technology where the ultrasound frequency is set only to target fat cells leaving all other surrounding tissue in tact and relatively untouched. This means less pain, less bruising and overall less downtime compared to traditional liposuction methods. The average patient takes about 3 – 7 days off work, and apparently that is because the garment that you have to wear for those 7 days is more uncomfortable than the surgery itself. The procedure in carried out under sedation rather than general anaesthesia – this is a mid-point between general and local anaesthesia, and the patient will have no memory of the operation itself and they are only in a ‘twilight sleep.’ Phew, general anaesthesia sounds scary. Horror stories fill us with dreads about scars, but we were told that the scars for VASER liposuction is usually less than 1cm and they are placed in very discreet places which we like the sound of. Most of the procedures take an average of 2 – 3 hours, and the patients will return home the same day. Nothing better than going home to sleep in your own bed. Apparently, the VASER is so precise that it can suck the fat from your double chin, your fat ankles and ‘bingo wings’ (our fatty upper arms)

I have had vaser on my abdomen and flanks and have 3 teeny weeny scars. In fact I would not call them that – I have freckles bigger!
