More and more women are having it all in Dubai and London. They are looking younger whilst balancing a family life with a full-time career. So what is their secret to staying ahead of the game? Dr Maurizio Viel and his twin brother Dr Roberto Viel, plastic surgeons in London and Dubai, reveal a few surgical and non-surgical options to treat the signs of ageing.
40s are the new 30s. With more women pursuing families and careers in Dubai and London and in the rest of the world, but having the added benefit of plastic surgery, they are looking and feeling younger and more dynamic and 40 is just another number. Celebrity examples of good-looking women in their 40s include Courtney Cox and Cindy
Crawford who have maintained great elasticity on their face, avoided heavy duty lines on their forehead and around the eyes, and kept great bodies despite children and hectic work schedules.
Here are a few age-defying techniques women in Dubai and London are doing at 40:
NEW - The Fractora – Firm Application and Fractora Application
For those who are afraid of needles and surgery there is a new non-invasive machine that can help with firming on the face. The Viel brothers are the first to have this new machine in the UAE, and it is ideal for those not quite ready for a face-lift but who need to reduce those ever increasing jowls and fine lines. There are four different applications for the machine and two have been designed specifically for the face using radio frequency technology that penetrates the deep tissue to stimulate collagen. The Firm application helps with skin firming with heat created from the radio frequency waves and the Fractora application can help reduce acne scars and wrinkles using blunt needles that do not penetrate the skin. Botox or Dysport at LCAS London and Dubai
Some women are very fortunate to only require botox treatments in their 40s. It is a good and effective treatment to treat lines that have been created by repetitive muscular movement such as lines on the forehead, frown lines and crows feet around the eyes. There are 2 main brands of botulinum toxin – botox and dysport that are used for cosmetic purposes. The treatment in the first year will need to be repeated every 3 – 4 months but after the first year the facial expressions are much weaker that the botox treatment can be repeated just twice a year. The treatment will only be carried out by our plastic surgeons, Dr Maurizio Viel and Dr Roberto Viel who have been sought by many plastic surgeons to train them in their art of application.
Fillers
There are dermal fillers that can be used to help with eye bags, and the deep grooves that start to form from the corners of the
nose to the corner of the mouth. These days the dermal fillers are so advanced that they last even longer than before. Some fillers can last now 8 – 12 months which means less trips to your plastic surgeon. The effects are so natural and the new creation of these youthful contours of the face can really take away the years. However, it is still important to choose only temporary fillers and not permanent fillers as the latter can create a reaction in the future.
Platelet Rich Plasma Facial Rejuvenation – PRP AKA ‘The Dracula Treatment’
Tried by many celebrities and LCAS has been featured in Elle UK as one of the first to offer ‘Dracula Treatment’ both in London and Dubai. It uses your own blood so we like to think ofit as an ‘Organic Extreme Facial’. The blood is collected in several tubes before being centrifuged to extract the platelets and plasma, and it is this component that is reinjected back into the face using a mesotherapy method. The platelets and plasma essentially ‘wake up’ the sleepy stem cells to produce more collagen and rejuvenation the overall skin complexion.
Lower blepharoplasty
Under eye bags and bulges are a universal problem in the 40-something woman. As fat in the cheeks starts to reduce, bags develop and eyelids look longer, says Dr Maurizio Viel, plastic surgeon at the London Centre for Aesthetic Surgery. Lower eyelid surgery known as lower blepharoplasty corrects sagging bags and deep grooves in the area between the eyes and the cheeks. The surgery can take years off a face because the eyes and the face look instantly fresher.
A mini-facelift – AKA MACS Face-lift
It is becoming more and more routine for women in their 40s to have a small and subtle facelift. At the LCAS Dubai and London, the plastic surgeons, Dr Maurizio Viel and Dr Roberto Viel, prefer the MACS Faelift method. This is sometimes knowns as the mini-lift or short-scar facelift – to correct the initial signs of aging and to give the face better contours and definitions. According to Dr Maurizio Viel, these procedures are different to the traditional methods that create the Joan Rivers ‘wind tunnel’ look. The new method is less invasive and concentrates on the lower two-thirds of the face, and the incisions are well hidden. For the MACS Face-lift, the muscles are tightened, which provide a youthful boost to the cheek and jawline area.
Dr Maurizio Viel and Dr Roberto Viel, plastic surgeons at the London Centre Aesthetic Surgery Gulf, have over 20 years experience in many plastic surgery treatments including botox, fillers, VASER liposuction, MACS Face-lfit and many more. They have clinics both in Dubai and London.
